DC vs RR: Twitter Reacts As Jos Buttler, Bowlers Help RR Beat DC And Jump To 1st Spot On Points Table
Rajasthan Royals (RR) moved up to the first spot on the points table following a comprehensive victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday.
After being put in to bat first, Rajasthan’s openers, Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal made the most of the conditions on offer to provide an excellent start. Buttler, holder of the orange cap this season, put on another masterclass.
He started off the blocks slowly, taking time to get his eye in while Padikkal took the initiative. Once Buttler middled a few deliveries, he took over from his partner and carried on to smash his 3rd century of the season.
On the back of his century and a couple of cameos from Padikkal and Sanju Samson, RR managed to beat their own record for the highest total and put on 222/2 in their quota of 20 overs.
In response, David Warner blazed away but was dismissed for a 14-ball 28. There were starts for Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, and Lalit Yadav but none of them made a significant contribution.
There was drama at the end as DC needed 36 runs from the final over with Rovman Powell on strike. He hit three sixes off the first three balls. The third six happened to be a 50-50 call on a waist-high full toss which led to interference from the DC camp.
However, it wasn’t enough in the end as RR defeated DC by 15 runs. The win took them to the first spot on the points table with 5 wins in 7 matches. As for Delhi, they are now in 6th place with 3 wins in 7 games.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to DC vs RR:

That was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen on a cricket field. Rishabh Pant totally lost it there.
Can't say that you won't play just because you think a decision didn't go in your favour. And sending someone to the field was total non-sense as well.#<!---->R<!---->R<!---->v<!---->D<!---->C
