DC vs SRH: Close To A Perfect Game For Us As A Batting Unit - Rishabh Pant After 21-run Win Over SRH

Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant was extremely satisfied with the batting unit after they put on a clinical display against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday.

Batting first, DC rode on the back of stunning knocks from David Warner and Rovman Powell. While Warner shone against his former team with a 58-ball 92, Powell played the role of a finisher to perfection and ended on 67 off 35 balls.

“There is always room for improvement, but it’s close to a perfect game for us as a batting unit. I was calm about myself. In high chases, the other team needs 10-12 runs per over, it’s difficult to hit till the 20th over.”

“I was telling the bowlers to be calm. (On Warner) The way he batted, the way he paced the innings, it’s one of the best innings,” Pant was quoted as saying at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Pant also lavished praise on Powell, who provided the perfect flourish after Warner’s knock. From 18 runs off 16 balls to 67 off 35, Powell changed the complexion of the game and helped DC cross the 200-run mark.

“We knew what he (Powell) can give us, we backed him and he’s coming out with flying colours now. We are just taking one game at a time and trying to give our 100%. I got out to a full toss, that’s part and parcel of the game. Good and important win for us,” Pant mentioned.

Delhi went on to defend the total comfortably albeit Nicholas Pooran tried his level best. The win takes DC to the 5th spot on the points table while SRH will need to find a way to recover from their 3rd defeat in a row.
