CSK batting coach Michael Hussey has been a part of two IPL titles under MS Dhoni. CSK became the first team to win back to back IPL titles in 2010 and 2011. Though Mumbai Indians are the most successful IPL team CSK have under Dhoni has far more appeal than Mumbai Indians under Rohit Sharma.

CSK under Dhoni has won four IPL titles, two Champions League T20 trophies and 11 top-four IPL finishes, making it the most successful outfit alongside Mumbai. Meanwhile, Hussey has recalled watching an emotional MS Dhoni ahead of the 2018 season.

“I think there’s not one particular memory but we see these championship-winning photos on the wall… I think probably the 2018 season. We were out of the competition for two years. We came back and I remember MS giving a speech right at the start of the season. He actually started tearing; tears were coming out of his eyes and I remember thinking, ‘Something special is happening here’,” Hussey told Hayden.

“That was a special season. It gives you goosebumps just thinking about what happened that year. It was almost like it was meant to be after coming back to the IPL. MS played unbelievably well throughout the season. It was just a special time,” he added.

CSK have lost seven out of their 10 matches so far in IPL 2022. The chances of them making the IPL 2022 playoffs is next to impossible. Their most recent loss was against RCB that almost ended the hopes of them making the playoffs. They play Delhi Capitals next on May 8.
