The Australian wicket-keeper has been struggling for runs. Against Rajasthan, he started really well but was unfortunately run out. However, Gujarat would not be bothered about that too much as he is a reputed opener and they will back him to get back amongst the runs.

Like Wade, Gill has also lost his form somewhat since scoring his career-best against Punjab Kings. However, they see a lot of potential in the youngster and they will back him as well at the top. Thus Wade and Gill will remain their openers for the game.

Sai Sudharshan / Vijay Shankar

The left-hander should replace Vijay Shankar in the line-up. Sudarshan looked good in the couple of matches that he played. Shankar was not used much with the ball against the Royals. That he scored just 2 in the game might also go against him.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 87 and picked up a wicket before he limped off the field. Pandya the batsman at number four has really been a revelation and his captaincy has also impressed the pundits of the game. His return to form ahead of the T20 World Cup is a welcome news for Indian cricket.

Abhinav Manohar

Manohar forged a good partnership with his skipper against The Royals. He has done justice to his talent to hold onto the spot given that he has been performing in the middle-order. He slots in at number five in the playing XI.

Rahul Tewatia

Tewatia will be the second spinner in the Gujarat Titans playing XI against CSK. He has already shown what he can do with the bat and bows a few handy overs as well. The southpaw is indispensable to this playing XI.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan went wicketless against the Royals as they planned to play him out. He has picked up six wickets from four games so far and he is another player who is key to this Gujarat Titans playing XI. His matchup with MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja will be an interesting battle.

Lockie Ferguson

The Kiwi pacer picked up two wickets in an over including the wicket of Jos Buttler to swing the match back to Gujarat’s way. Ferguson was clever with his changes of pace against the Royals and he clocked close to 150kmph as well. He is showcasing his entire range of international experience in this IPL so far.

Mohammed Shami

Shami will be the second seamer in the playing XI against CSK. He faced the heat early on from Jos Buttler but then came back well to complete his spell for 38 runs from his four overs. SO far he has picked up six wickets from five games as well.

Gujarat Titans should include either The pacer or the spinner depending on their team combination and the playing conditions in place of Yash Dayal. Given that this will be a crucial gamer for them, they should go in with their best XI.
