Sri Lanka Cricket Yet To Approve Wanindu Hasaranga & Dushmantha Chameera's IPL Participation

The BCCI finalised a list of 590 cricketers for the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction. The auction will be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. Among the 590 players named, there are 23 Sri Lankan players who have registered themselves for the auction. They have kept their base price across the various categories.

Among 590 players, who have registered for the auction, 228 are capped, 355 are uncapped and 7 belong to Associate Nations. Also, amongst the 590 players, 370 are Indians and the remaining 220 are overseas players. 48 players have been placed in the INR 2 crore bracket, 20 players have been placed in INR 1.5 crore bracket and 34 players are in INR 1 crore bracket. 25 players have enrolled themselves in the 75 lakh category with several Sri Lankan players in there as well.

Lasith Malinga Remains IPL’s Highest Wicket-Taker With 170 Scalps

Not many Sri Lankan players have played in the IPL in the last few years. Lasith Malinga is the only name that stands out. He played regularly in the IPL since his debut in 2009 barring the 2016 season. He is the highest wicket-taker in the IPL with 170 wickets to his name.

Several new faces from Sri Lanka have registered themselves in the upcoming IPL 2022 auction.
