MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has decided to hand over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja, a spin-bowling all-rounder, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Dhoni will also continue to play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022 and beyond, according to the statement.

CEO of CSK released a statement in which he stated :

“His decision is respected by us. Dhoni makes decisions in the best interests of CSK at all times. We hope to be as consistent as we have been in previous years this year “Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of CSK, spoke to News9 Sports.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) revealed the devastating news in an official statement on Thursday, March 24. Dhoni has decided not to continue as captain, according to a statement made by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and has chosen Jadeja to lead the team in the cash-rich tournament.

Sunil Gavaskar predicts Ravindra Jadeja as CSK’s captain:

Sunil Gavaskar, a batting icon, praised Jadeja’s ability to analyse the game and said he wouldn’t be surprised if Jadeja took over the captaincy if Dhoni stepped down. Dhoni stepped down as captain and handed over leadership duties to the flashy all-rounder, as Gavaskar predicted.

“The way Ravindra Jadeja has developed as a player over the last few years, the way he has adjusted his game, and the way he interprets match circumstances has been just brilliant.” “I won’t be surprised if the captaincy is handed over to Jadeja if MS Dhoni decides to take a vacation in the odd game,” Gavaskar stated during a Gameplan programme televised on Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the IPL.

Super Kings have won four IPL titles and one Champions League trophy, and have only missed the playoffs once in their 13-year history.

On Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium, CSK will face KKR in the first match of the IPL 2022 season.
