Kishan had one good season for Mumbai when he scored 516 runs for Mumbai in their title-winning season. He would ideally like to replicate his 2020 heroics in 2022.

Suryakumar Yadav

Kishan and Yadav have been the backbone of their batting lineup in the last few years. SKY with his innovative batting methods can be key for Mumbai Indians at number three. He had four back to back consistent seasons for Mumbai between 2018 and 2021. He would like to continue his form in the upcoming season as well. Right now, he is busy recovering from a hairline fracture during a fielding attempt in the third and final T20I against the West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday.

Murugan Ashwin

Mumbai Indians, over the years, missed having a good leg spinner in their ranks. They had Piyush Chawla available for IPL 202 and 2021 but they did not use him. Murugan Ashwin is a good buy given that he is young and can be f=groomed by the management and the captain. Till date, the promising leggie has played 34 games in the IPL and picked 26 wickets.

Jaydev Unadkat

Unadkat is one of the veterans in Indian domestic cricket. It is only fair that Mumbai gives him a long run having attained his services in the IPL. He will give them a good left-arm option now with Trent Boult not a part of the team anymore. He is inching closer to 100 IPL wickets.

Basil Thampi

Now roped in by Mumbai Indians, he can form a good pair with Jasprit Bumrah and get consistent chances in the playing XI. The right-arm quick has played 20 games and picked up 17 wickets.
