IPL 2022: You Have To Bring 'KulCha' Back – Harbhajan Singh Wants Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal To Be Part Of India's T20 World Cup Squad

The 41-year-old Harbhajan Singh has opined that the spin-bowling duo of left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, which is popularly known as KulCha, should be part of India’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which will take place in Australia later this year.

Both Kuldeep and Chahal have performed remarkably well for their respective teams in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

The 31-year-old Chahal is currently the leading wicket-taker in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league. Chahal has picked up 19 wickets in just 10 games for Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) at an average of 15.31, an economy of 7.27 and a strike rate of 12.63, including a hat-trick, a 4-wicket haul and a 5-wicket haul.

On the other hand, the 27-year-old Kuldeep is the second-highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League 2022. The left-arm wrist spinner has bagged 18 wickets for Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) in 10 games at an average of 17.16, an economy of 8.42, and a strike rate of 12.22, including two 4-wicket hauls.

Meanwhile, the former India National Cricket Team off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has backed the ‘KulCha’ duo to be part of India’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Harbhajan said that Chahal and Kuldeep have performed brilliantly across all formats whenever they have played together for India. He added that it would be a great sight to see the wrist spinners bowl on Australian pitches during the World Cup.

“I certainly believe that you have to bring ‘Kulcha’ back. Kuldeep and Yuzvendra, I think they have been brilliant for Team India. When they played together, they took wickets in middle overs, whether it was T20s, ODIs or any format,” he said.

“I don’t know why they (selectors) break that partnership which was going well for India. It will be great to see them bowling in Australia, where grounds are big and they both are quality bowlers,” he signed off.”
