IPL 2021: Even My Mum Wouldn’t Have Voted For Me - James Neesham Trolls Himself On Being Nominated As MI's Player Of The Match Alongside Kishan And Suryakumar

Twitter’s ultimate troller James Neesham came up with another funny tweet. This time, however, he trolled himself.
On Saturday, Mumbai Indians franchise nominated James Neesham for the “Paltan’s Player of the match” award, given by the franchise for their best performing players in the game, for their 42-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
The two other nominations were Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav – the left-hander had blasted 84 runs off 32 balls, and the right-hander sparkled with an 82-run knock off 40 balls, helping MI to 235. James Neesham, with the ball in hand, returned with figures of 2/28.

Kishan was named the award winner. James Neesham reckoned that it was so obvious that he wouldn’t win it over Kishan and Yadav that his own mother wouldn’t have voted for him.
Here is James Neesham’s tweet:

This wasn’t our year: Rohit Sharma
Despite a 42-run victory over SRH, Mumbai weren’t able to go over KKR’s higher net run rate and with 14 points finished fifth in the points table.
Skipper Rohit Sharma stated that the team couldn’t perform collectively as they had done in the previous couple of seasons. Quinton de Kock, Hardik Pandya, and Krunal Pandya were off-colour with the bat, while Kishan and Suryakumar found form only in the last couple of games.
With the ball as well, Trent Boult and Rahul Chahar weren’t as effective as they were last season.

“When you want to win games, championships, everyone needs to come together. And that is what we had been doing successfully in the last few years. That’s the hallmark of this team, to come collectively and perform,” Rohit said after the game versus SRH.
“We don’t tend to rely on one or two individuals. We always believe in everyone coming together and chipping in with those performances. That didn’t happen this year. So that was a bit disappointing. But I don’t want to take anything away from the guys, we’ve had two successful campaigns back-to-back. This wasn’t our year,” he added.
Several Mumbai Indians players are part of India’s T20 World Cup squad. India will take on Pakistan in their opening encounter on October 24 in Dubai.
