IPL 2023 Auction is going to take place on December 16 as per BCCI’s current plans. The Indian cricket board has asked the IPL franchises to submit their final list of retained and released players by November 15. About 650 players are expected to go under the hammer during IPL 2023 auction. The Indian team gave a good performance in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 reaching the semi-finals.

Dinesh Karthik is the first player on this list. The 37-year-old managed to get a place in the ICC T20 World Cup squad with his good batting show in IPL 2022. However, the wicketkeeper batter failed to come up with a good show in ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

In 3 innings, Karthik hit just 14 runs and got out for single digits in every game. He was also dropped from playing XI in the last two games. Hence, Karthik might go unsold in IPL 2023 auction based on his T20 World Cup performance.

The right-arm pacer bowled some good spells in a few games. However, he was not outstanding overall, picking 6 wickets in 6 games at an average of 22.83 and an economy of 6.90. Hence, he might go unsold as he will not be seen as a powerful bowler for the T20 format.
