IND vs NZ: Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj Achieve Big Gains In Latest ICC Rankings

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and pace Mohammed Siraj have had big gains in the latest ICC ODI rankings after the recently concluded series against Sri Lanka. Kohli ended as the top-run-getter (283) while Siraj ended as the highest wicket-taker in the series (9). Their performances ensured that India clean swept their Asian rivals 3-0.
Meanwhile, their performances have been duly rewarded as both players have moved up the respective rankings. Kohli has risen to the fourth spot in the ICC ODI rankings for batters. Siraj is now placed third in the ICC ODI rankings for bowlers.

Virat Kohli Scored Two Centuries In Three ODIs Against SL
Virat Kohli is now with 750 points and placed fourth. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is continuing to lead the tale with 887 points followed by Rassie Van der Dussen with 766 points. Quinton de Kock is placed third with 759 points followed by Kohli at fourth.
Mohammed Siraj Took 9 Wickets In 3 Games in SL ODI Series
Meanwhile, Siraj has achieved career-best rankings so far having moved upto the third position in the rankings. He is now on 685 points. Trent Boult despite not being in the current New Zealand squad is topping the rankings (730 points) followed by Josh Hazlewood (727 points) at second.

Shakib Al Hasan is leading the all-rounders rankings in ODIs with 389 rating points. Former Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi is placed second with 310 points while Shakib’s Bangladesh teammate Mehidy Hasan Miraz is ranked third with 284 points. Shakib and Mehidy both performed in Bangladesh’s 2-1 ODI series win over India in December last year.
Meanwhile, Team India after their series win against Sri Lanka will now play a three-match ODI and T20I series against New Zealand. The Kiwis are the top-ranked ODI side at the moment while India are placed fourth. The series kicks off with the first ODI in Hyderabad on January 18. The series continues the preparations for both teams for the ODI World Cup later this year.
The second and third ODI will be played in Raipur (January 21) and Indore (January 24). Both teams then play a three-match T20I series. The T20Is will be played in Ranchi (January 27), Lucknow (January 29), and Ahmedabad (February 1) respectively.
