Ahead of the IND vs SA 2nd ODI, here we talk about India’s predicted playing XI against South Africa in the match.
IND vs SA: India’s Predicted Playing XI Against South Africa, 2nd ODI
Shikhar Dhawan (C)
Shikhar Dhawan is the captain of India in the IND vs SA ODI series and will lead the team in the 2nd ODI as well. He failed to score runs in the opening game. The right-handed batsman got out for just 4 runs off 16 balls. In the 2nd ODI, the India opener will aim to make a comeback with a superb knock.
Shubman Gill might be the other opener for the team in the IND vs SA 2nd ODI. The right-handed batsman lost his wicket cheaply in the 1st ODI for just 3 runs. However, Gill performed brilliantly in the previous ODI series against Zimbabwe where he also won the player of the series award. He will aim to come up with a better knock in the next game.
Ruturaj Gaikwad might be a one-down batsman for the team in the IND vs SA 2nd ODI. India used their best playing XI in the opening game and they will go with the same plan in the next match as well. Gaikwad scored just 19 runs off 42 balls in the last match with just 1 boundary. In the next game, he will look to score at a better strike rate.
Shreyas Iyer might be a middle-order batsman for the team in the next match. The right-handed batsman smacked a marvellous half-century in the last match. He scored 50 runs off 37 balls and added crucial runs to the scoreboard. Iyer will be a powerful middle-order batsman for the team.
Ishan Kishan might be another middle-order batter for the team in the 2nd ODI against South Africa. The left-handed batsman scored 20 runs off 37 balls in the last match. He got a good start but could not convert it into a big knock. In the next game, he will aim to smash more runs for the team.
Sanju Samson (WK)
Sanju Samson will be the wicketkeeper and a lower-order batsman for the team in the IND vs SA 2nd ODI. The right-handed batsman shattered a marvellous knock of unbeaten 86 runs in the 1st ODI. He could not win the game for India but took the game closer to victory with 9 fours and 3 sixes during his knock. Samson will be picked in the playing XI in the next match after his fabulous show in the last match.
Kuldeep Yadav might be a spinner for the team in the IND vs SA 2nd ODI. Yadav gave a good performance in the 1st ODI. The left-arm spinner picked 1 wicket in his 8 overs and conceded just 39 runs at an economy of 4.90. In the next match, the chinaman bowler will look to grab some more wickets in his kitty.
Ravi Bishnoi might be another spinner for the team in the IND vs SA 2nd ODI. The right-arm spinner picked 1 wicket in his last match. However, the leg spinner was a little costly as he was carted away for 69 runs in 8 overs at an economy of 8.90. However, it was Bishnoi’s debut ODI game and he might get another opportunity in the next match.
Shardul Thakur might be one of the pacers for the team in the next match. The right-arm pacer was the outstanding performer for India in the opening ODI against South Africa. With the ball, he picked the most 2 wickets at an economy of just 4.40 in his 8 overs. With the bat, he slammed crucial 33 runs for the team smashing 5 boundaries. He will be a good all-rounder for the team in the next match.
Avesh Khan might be another pacer for India in the next match. Since Deepak Chahar is injured and Mukesh Kumar is an uncapped player, Avesh Khan is one of the top 3 pacers in the squad. He went wicketless in the previous game and conceded 51 runs in his 8 overs at an economy of 6.40. He will seek to grab some wickets in the next match.
Mohammed Siraj might be another pacer for India in IND vs SA 2nd ODI. The right-arm pacer could not get a wicket in the opening encounter. He conceded 49 runs in his 8 overs at an economy of 6.10. In the next match, Siraj will aim to come up with a better pace attack against the visitors of South Africa.
