IND vs SA: It Is A Homecoming Of Sorts For Yuzvendra Chahal, He Has 51 Wickets On This Ground - Aakash Chopra
As India and South Africa get set to play the final T20I in Bengaluru on Sunday, former cricketer Aakash Chopra shed the spotlight on leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, who will be in familiar territory.
Chahal was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise in the IPL where he made a mark and went on to become a prominent member of the Indian team. He was picked up by Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the IPL 2022 season but he will now return to the Chinnaswamy Stadium, albeit in blue colors.
“Home ground for Yuzi, his old franchise. He has 51 wickets on this ground, the most by any bowler. He has been very good. In fact, he played for India because on such a small ground, where it is said that there is a board outside saying no entry for bowlers, Yuzi Chahal is not hit. It is a homecoming of sorts for Yuzi Chahal,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
“This ground is going to erupt for three people” – Aakash Chopra
Chopra felt that the crowd will be on its feet every time Chahal, Harshal Patel, and Dinesh Karthik come into the limelight. The latter was instrumental in RCB’s campaign this year while Harshal has become the toast of the town following Purple cap-winning performance in the IPL 2021 season for the same team.
“This ground is going to erupt for three people – first is Yuzi Chahal because he is a former RCBian. After that, it is going to go absolutely berserk for Dinesh Karthik because of the kind of form he is in. If he is the Indian team’s star, he is also RCB’s pride. Harshal Patel – Purple Patel last year and this year again he was very good,” he added.
Karthik is also in great form, coming into the match on the back of his maiden T20I fifty. India carries all the momentum heading into the final T20I, with the series tied at 2-2.
