Former India Batting Coach Sanjay Bangar believes Hardik Pandya’s captaincy career graph is impressive because of the way he led his side to the IPL title.
The India vs Sri Lanka series commences on January 3, 2023. Keeping the upcoming series in mind, the BCCI has announced both the T20I and ODI squads.

It’s interesting how many changes have occurred that no one anticipated. The most recent team selection strongly suggests that Hardik Pandya is being prepared to lead India’s white ball team in the future. In the T20 International format, the Gujarat Titans captain has been given captaincy responsibilities; in the ODI format, Hardik has been named the team’s vice-captain. KL Rahul was unexpectedly selected for the ODI squad, however, Hardik was chosen over Rahul.
India’s next captain for the white ball has suddenly been named Hardik Pandya. Pandya guided his team Gujarat Titans to an IPL trophy win earlier this year, and the rest is history. He served as the leader of India in both Ireland and New Zealand.

After Team India’s heartbreaking loss to Jos Buttler’s England in the T20I World Cup semifinal, it was revealed that the BCCI is considering making significant changes, at least with regard to the T20I team. With only 10 months before the World Cup, Hardik Pandya’s selection as vice-captain is unquestionably a significant step in the right direction.
Hardik Pandya’s going to be a good contender to take over Rohit Sharma: Sanjay Bangar
Sanjay Bangar, a former India batting coach, predicts that Hardik Pandya will be a great contender to succeed Rohit Sharma.
“Hardik’s captaincy career graph is pretty good because the way he led his team to IPL Title was pretty impressive so it meant that in the long run, he’s going to be a good contender to take over Rohit Sharma when the situation arises,” Sanjay Bangar on espncricinfo.
“Kind of success ishan Kishan has had at the top of the order which will mean that Kl Rahul at the moment may not be part of playing 11 in 50 overs cricket and hence the elevations of Hardik Pandya to Vice-Captaincy,” Sanjay added on espncricinfo.
India will begin preparing for the 2023 ODI World Cup, and they undoubtedly learned a lot from their loss in the 2022 T20 World Cup, which was held in Australia. Nobody can foresee who would lead India in the upcoming ICC event due to the constantly shifting dynamics of Indian cricket.
