Foster’s big knock meant that Australia had to bat again and they ended up setting a target of 194 in the end. England went on to win the test by 5 wickets and foster could play just 7 more tests after that knock in his test career.
Jacques Rudolph:
The left-hander came in at three and formed a huge partnership alongside Boeta Dipennar and finished with an unbeaten 222. This is the second-highest score on debut by any batsmen and South Africa went on to win the test by an innings and 60 runs.
Matthew Sinclair:

New Zealand’s Matthew Sinclair made an extraordinary debut against West Indies in Wellington in 1999. The right-hander batted at three and took his side to a commendable total on board with a 214 run knock in 447 deliveries.
Sinclair hit 22 boundaries in the innings and he did manage to get some chances after that. However, an inconsistent show meant that he lost his place in the side. His 214 is the joint equal fourth-highest score on debut by batsmen.
Lawrence Rowe:
Rowe hit 19 fours and one six in the innings and his 214 is the fourth highest individual score on test debut by any batsmen. The match ended up in a draw at the last.
Kyle Mayers:

Kyle Mayers was the latest to add to this list as he scripted one of the most memorable knocks in the history of tests. The left-hander scored just 40 in his debut innings but made up for a brilliant unbeaten 210 in the second innings Bangladesh in Chattogram in March this year.
Mayer’s innings stood standout as West Indies needed 395 to win the test on a tough fourth innings wicket and he hit 20 fours and 7 sixes in the innings. This is the fifth-highest individual score on test debut by any batsman.
