Gautam Gambhir has always been a player who has been very vocal and has never been worried about spatting words. This happened in the 2010 Asia cup when Akmal wasn’t happy with the keeper catch behind the stumps that was adjudged not out by the umpire when Gambhir was on strike.

Aamir Sohail is one of the most stylish Pakistan batsmen and the left-hander in the 1996 World cup Quarterfinal was batting brilliantly until he lost his concentration. He hit the Indian seamer Venkatesh Prasad for a boundary in the covers region and immediately showed off the bat asking him to fetch the ball.

Venkatesh Prasad, calm and composed as always returned to his bowling strike and the next delivery saw the off stumps flying off the ground with the set batsmen Aamir Sohail getting dismissed immediately after his boundary. Prasad was delighted by the wicket and he punched the air which was the perfect comeback possible for a bowler.

Gautam Gambhir was involved in another controversy with the Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi in eh 2007 ODI series. At Kanpur, Gambhir had a slow start to the Indian innings but he was quick enough to get into the action against the wrist-spinner Shahid Afridi.

Both the players suddenly had an ugly spat of words exchanged and the umpires had to involve to stop them from making the situation very big. India won the game in the end, due to some excellence from Yuvraj Singh who played a steady hand in the middle to take India to a respectable total.

The latest of the incidents happened between Shoaib Akthar and Harbhajan Singh in the 2010 Asia cup in Dambulla. Harbhajan who is no mug with the bat had a few words exchanged with the world’s quickest bowler Shoaib Akthar and it immediately resulted in a six being hit in the bowling of Akthar by Harbhajan.

The word kept being exchanged and the umpires started to calm down the situation. It was a crucial moment in the game and Akthar made sure that he wanted to get into the minds of Harbhajan. However, the off-spinner won the race and finished off the chase for India with a six-off Mohammad Amir.
