During the press conference, a reporter asked Sharma whether he was shocked to see Pant coming at no.4 on the field. To this, the India captain said he was not shocked because everyone was shouting to witness Rishabh Pant’s batting.
“Not really because you all guys wanted Rishabh Pant to play right? Right from India, you were asking where is Rishabh Pant, where is Rishabh Pant. There he is at no.4,” Sharma had said.

3. About Virat Kohli’s Poor Form
During India’s tour to England in July 2022, Virat Kohli was struggling with his batting form. When he was unable to score runs in the ODI series, a reporter asked Rohit Sharma about his lean patch. Sharma had already heard similar questions during the press conference of previous games and was irritated over the question.
He said that he doesn’t understand why people are discussing Virat Kohli’s batting. He has been a wonderful batter who has scored so many runs.
“Kyon ho rahi hai, matlab mujhe samajh me nhi aata hai? Yaar matlab bande ne itne run banaye hai, mujhe to samajh nahi aa raha form pe discussion kyun ho rhi hai. (Why is it happening (talks about Kohli), I do not understand. Someone who has made so many runs is being questioned over his form. I don’t understand this),” Sharma said.
Rohit was yet again asked on Virat. And I am glad he said what he has. Good to see the captain back his top man. pic.twitter.com/OBtd4JHOFE

2. About Shakib Al Hasan’s Ban

1. About Quality of Indian Pitches
During England’s tour of India in 2021, India managed to outplay the visitors at their home with spin-friendly pitches. Some former England players like Michael Vaughan and Mark Waugh criticized the Indian pitches terming them a ‘minefield’.
When Rohit Sharma was asked about his opinions on the matter, he said other countries don’t think about the Indian team when they visit them. So why should we care about them? He also said this is what home and away advantage is all about. People should tell ICC to make a rule for the same pitches everywhere.
“When we go out, other countries don’t think about us, so why should we think about others. We should make pitches according to the preference of our team. This is what it means home and away advantage, otherwise, this should be taken out. Tell ICC to make a rule that pitches should be prepared the same everywhere,” Sharma blasted the critics.
