The Asia Cup 2022 will be held in Sri Laka from August 27 to September 11. India is the most successful team in the tournament with seven titles to their name. They won it last time in 2018 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.

This Asia Cup will be played between six teams and a total of 13 matches will be played in the competition with the final on September 11. The 15th edition was supposed to be played in 2020 in Sri Lanka but was postponed due to covid. Meanwhile, in this article, we take a look at a 15-member predicted Indian squad that might be announced in due course. Given the wide range of potential in Indian cricket right now, the BCCI is likely to announce a well-balanced squad. The management can also rotate a few players till the T20 World Cup with India playing T20 and ODI cricket against Ireland and England in the build-up to the mega event.

These are the likely seven batsmen who might be named in the Indian squad for Asia Cup 2022. The likes of Rohit, Kohli, Rahul and SKY are almost guaranteed selections. All of them are not a part of the Indian squad at the moment but will be back for the tournament.

Ishan Kishan is being seen as India’s third opener for the T20 World Cup and will be given more opportunities. Pant comes in as the wicketkeeper and Dinesh Karthik as the designated finisher. Karthik’s brilliant show in the IPL might just give him the edge to be selected for the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup squads for India.
