India and Pakistan had a great rivalry in every sporting discipline but more so in cricket. The two teams are placed in group B in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. The campaign begins from August 27 in UAE and India and Pakistan play each other on August 28. 

All the teams have announced their squads for the multi-nation tournament. There are some big names missing from the tournament. Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi have been ruled out with injuries. Meanwhile, the Indian team is without Mohammed Shami while Angelo Mathews is not a part of the Sri Lankan squad.

Speaking about the IND vs PAK rivalry in the Asia Cup, India have won 8 out of the 14 matches played while Pakistan have won five. The last time both these two teams played against each other was in the T20 World Cup 2021 with Pakistan beating India by 10 wickets.

This is what makes this game so interesting as India now have a chance to exact revenge.  Meanwhile, in this article, we take a look at three Pakistan-born players to have played for India.

1) Gul Mohammad

Gul Mohammad was one of the first big names in Pakistan cricket. after playing 8 Test matches for India and making his debut in 1946, his family went to Pakistan. Mohammed made his international debut for Pakistan in 1956 against Australia. He played only nine Test matches overall.

2) Amir Elahi

Amir Elahi was born on September 1, 1908, in Lahore, and made his debut for India in 1947. He then moved to Pakistan and played five Tests for them overall, scoring 82 runs and 7 wickets to his name. He played his last Test on 12 December 1952 against India at the age of 44. He took citizenship in Pakistan in 1950.

3) Abdul Hafeez Kardar

Hafeez Kardar is the last name on this list. He was born in Lahore played three Tests for India and then moved back to PakistanIn 1952, the southpaw became the first captain to be at the helm for Pakistan. He scored 927 runs in 26 test matches. During this, he also took five half-centuries and 21 Test wickets. Kardar the last match against West Indies in 1958.
