IND vs AUS: Watch- Virat Kohli Bowls To Rohit Sharma In Viral Video That Emerges Ahead Of Nagpur Test

India and Australia are facing each in the first Test in Nagpur. Australia won the toss and opted to bat first losing two wickets early. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back in the Indian team along with some other senior players in the Indian XI. 

The return of Rohit and Kohli bolsters the batting of the Indian team who are batting as deep as number nine with Axar Patel at that number. This will be Rohit Sharma’s very first Test match against Australia at home. Meanwhile, Kohli will be up against his favorite opponent against who he averages nearly 50.

Meanwhile, ahead of the first Test, a video has emerged wherein, Virat Kohli was seen having a few throwdowns to Rohit Sharma just before the toss. However, the video does not seem to be of the Nagpur Test. The Indian fans at the stadium were cheering the former skipper bowling to the current skipper. The two players have been pillars of Indian cricket for a long time now and have shared some great camaraderie and friendship.

India opted to field three spinners in their lineup. Besides Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel opted as the third spinner in the playing XI. Axar’s selection was part of India’s tactical decision.

Suryakumar Yadav, KS Bharat Making Test Debuts For India In Nagpur

They also had two players in KS Bharat and Suryakumar Yadav debuting in the first Test. Bharat was chosen over Ishan Kishan because of his better-keeping skills against the Indian spinners.  He also has a lot of experience playing domestic cricket and keeping against the turning ball. 

SKY’s selection was also tactical as India needed a like-for-like replacement for Pant in the middle order. SKY is a naturally aggressive player is expected to be the enforcer against spin in the middle order for India. Thus after proving his mettle in white-ball cricket, he now has finally made his debut in Test cricket. 

The Border-Gavaskar series kickstarts with the first Test in Nagpur on January 8. The second Test will be played in Delhi from February 13-17. The third in Dharamsala from March 1 to 5 and the fourth Test will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad from March 9 to 13. India needs to win the series to qualify for the WTC Final.
