Star Australian Test batsman Marnus Labuschagne, who is placed in the No.1 spot in the ICC Test rankings, believes that the Pakistan National Cricket Team have built their team around young left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi and labelled the pacer as the team’s “strike weapon”.
The 21-year-old Pakistan pacer has already established himself as one of the best pacers in world cricket. In the year 2021, he performed exceptionally and was able to pick 47 Test wickets in just 17 innings at an impressive average of 17.06. Also, he won the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Cricketer of the Year for 2021.
Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne feels that the Australian team will have to deal with the threat of Shaheen Afridi if they want to win.
“Pakistan have built their team really around Shaheen Shah Afridi in the last few years and he’s their strike weapon. So he’s one that we’ve got to make sure we are really on top of,” Labuschagne said.
