BPL 2024: Babar Azam Set To Play For Rangpur Riders In Upcoming Bangladesh Premier League 2024

Pakistan skipper and number one ODI batter, Babar Azam is all set to play for Rangpur Riders in the forthcoming ninth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 which is set to kick off from January.
According to Cricket Pakistan, Babar Azam received huge offers from UAE’s ILT20, however, the Pakistani skipper chose Bangladesh Premier League, In the initial stage the player was confused about choosing a team but in the end, Babar Azam signed with Rangpur Riders.
It is being said that after the Bangladesh-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2023 on Wednesday (September 7th) at Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore, Babar Azam confirmed that he will wear the Rangpur Riders’ jersey.

The Bangladesh Premier League side, Rangpur Riders took their official Facebook account to announce the signing of the star player. However, the team did not fully unveil the player and asked the fans to guess.
“We are here with another surprise after signing the world’s No. 1 all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in the fight for victory! Dear Rangpur Riders fans, guess who is going to be the new rider by matching the information given in the picture, and share your opinion in the comments,” the franchise wrote.
Apart from Babar Azam, the BPL team have signed Ihsanullah, and Shakib Al Hasan, and retained players like Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mahedi Hasan, and Hasan Mahmud.
Babar Azam is currently in Sri Lanka taking part in the Asia Cup’s Super Fours with the Pakistan cricket team. In the upcoming days, the Men in Green will take on Rohit Sharma’s India on Sunday (September 10th) at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo in the third Super Four match of the Continental Cup.
Pakistan are currently at their best form recently and have been ranked as the number one ODI team. The last time they faced India, the match was cancelled without any result due to rain.
However, the Men in Green bowling attack displayed a stunning performance and dismissed the Indian batting order at 266 runs in the first inning.
Babar Azam’s Pakistan will play India in the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023 on October 14th at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
