Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh made a bold prediction about the two finalists of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Harbhajan Singh stated that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), led by Faf du Plessis, will play the summit clash in the prestigious T20 tournament.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore secured a playoff berth after securing victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, May 18. The Faf du Plessis-led team secured a comfortable 27-run victory in their last league match in front of their home crowd.

The Bengaluru team suffered seven losses in their first eight matches in the tournament. However, they have turned things around impressively with six consecutive wins. The 2016 finalist became the first team in IPL history to achieve this feat after securing just one win in their first seven games.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured the top spot in the points table. The Shreyas Iyer-led team will face the second-placed team in Qualifier 1. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) are competing for the second spot. Bengaluru will play Eliminator with the third-ranked team.

RCB And KKR Will Play The Final - Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh predicted that Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders will meet in the final of the IPL 2024. Singh stated that Virat Kohli and KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir, who have had on-field conflicts, will return to face each other in the final.

"I feel that RCB and KKR will play the final. If that happens Kohli and Gambhir will be back to face each other. RCB can win the trophy from this point, they have fought hard for each run. If they play with this energy then it will be hard to stop this team," Harbhajan Singh said on his YouTube channel.

The rivalry between Kohli and Gambhir gained attention in the previous IPL season. Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq engaged in a verbal altercation during the match. LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir had an exchange with Kohli after the match. Kohli had a lengthy chat with LSG captain KL Rahul.

Great To Finish In Front Of Our Fans - Faf du Plessis

Speaking in the post-match presentation, Faf du Plessis described the night as unbelievable. Du Plessis expressed joy in finishing the match in front of their fans. The RCB skipper highlighted the significant contributions from their batting lineup.

"What a night it was unbelievable. It's great to finish this in front of our fans. Myself and Virat were talking about the score after the rain. There was a lot of rain falling on the pitch and I was having a chat with the umpires. Me and Virat were chatting to get through this phase. The contribution from many batters is the highlight of our batting line-up," Faf du Plessis said.

RCB set a formidable target of 218/5 in their crucial match. Faf du Plessis (54), Virat Kohli (47), Cameron Green (38), and Rajat Patidar (41) added valuable runs. Glenn Maxwell dismissed CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for a golden duck. The RCB bowlers then restricted CSK to 191 runs in 20 overs.
