Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh expressed excitement at the prospect of seeing four ‘much-deserved’ players added to India’s squad for their white-ball series against West Indies.

Ahead of the series which starts on February 6, the BCCI announced the squad for the same. Yuvraj congratulated left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, spin-bowling all-rounders Washington Sundar, Deepak Hooda, and opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad, for making it to the team.

Kuldeep returned to the squad after recovering from his injury. He had also fallen out of favour with the selectors but received a recall for the Windies series. Hooda, who last played for India in 2015, also returns to the setup.

Rohit Sharma has recovered from his hamstring injury and will be back to lead the side in the white-ball series. He passed the fitness tests at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and was cleared by the physios to return to international cricket.
