Pakistan Cricket Team registered a convincing victory against New Zealand in the 1st ODI. The hosts displayed an attacking brand of cricket where New Zealand looked a bit off-colour. Skipper Babar Azam continued his purple patch as the right-handed batter as he played a terrific knock of 66 runs in 82 balls where he struck 5 fours and 1 six.

Babar rotated his bowlers quite smartly as not a single batter struck a half-century. Naseem Shah was the pick of the bowlers where he took a 5-wicket haul and gave away 57 runs in his spell of 10 overs. It looked as if the Men in Green were on a mission after a close Test Series against New Zealand.

Misbah-ul-Haq on Babar Azam

Misbah was having an interaction with Geo News and was asked about Babar Azam. “It is visible, Babar is being forced to become weak, which is not good. The kind of press conferences and questions being asked from Babar, everyone is watching,” said Misbah.

“If there is a decision to be made, everyone should sit together and make a decision. The players, the selection committee, and the board should sit down and make a decision comfortably.

“They should review the situation and If they think changes should be made, then they should do it. If you put pressure on someone for any other reason, the whole team will be disturbed. It should not happen,” he added.

Great Chance for Pakistan

The Men in Green should aim to seal the ODI series on 11th January (Wednesday) as New Zealand has the knack of making a staggering comeback. The hosts would be hoping that Imam gets back to form as the left-handed batter was dismissed cheaply in the 1st ODI.

New Zealand on the other hand needs their skipper Kane Williamson to bat as deep as possible as the batter knows how to play a significant knock. The management should promote Glenn Phillips up the order as he could be a lethal option against the spinners.
