Royal Challengers Bengaluru's winning celebration didn’t last long as the IPL 2025 title triumph turned into a horrific state when 11 people were killed in a deadly stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy stadium on June 4, the day after winning the trophy.
People in large numbers gathered outside the stadium, and the police couldn’t handle the crowd to maintain order, which ultimately led to chaos, and several people were killed, with 33 fans injured in the stampede.
INR 5 lakh to the families of the stampede victims
After nearly 30+ people were hurt in the stampede while taking part in the joyful RCB title triumph celebration, RCB and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) announced INR 5 lakh financial assistance to the families who lost their loved ones during the stampede.
RCB and KSCA released a joint statement in which they expressed their deep concern for the families of the victims, who lost their lives in the celebration occasion.
"We are profoundly saddened by the tragic loss of life and the injuries sustained by individuals during this event. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this incident. We sincerely regret this tragedy and stand in solidarity with the bereaved families during this extremely difficult time," RCB’s and KSCA’s statement.
The statement insisted that the gesture of 5 lakh didn’t replace the value of human life, but the families who lost their loved ones in the stampede will get some financial assistance from this gesture.
