Virat Kohli had a sensational run as a captain of the Indian Test team and he will go down as one of the best Test captains of all time. Virat Kohli has done a terrific job – Steve Smith
During a recent Instagram live session, a fan had asked the Australian Test vice-captain Smith who should be India’s next Test captain after Kohli has quit the captaincy in the longest format of the game to which he responded that India’s white-ball captain Rohit and his deputy Rahul are two favourites.
“Firstly, congratulations to Virat who’s led the Indian team superbly well for the last six or seven years. He has done a terrific job and looking forward I’d say probably Rohit (Sharma) or KL (Rahul) are the two favourites”, said Smith during the session which he also posted as his Insta story.
Also, Smith talked about senior Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan and said that he has enjoyed playing with Dhawan and termed him as a terrific player.
“Playing with Shikhar was great. He’s a lovely guy and a terrific player”, Smith said.
Notably, Shikhar Dhawan and Smith were a part of the Delhi Capitals (DC) team and they were released by the franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction.
