On Saturday, BCCI named all-rounder Jalaj Saxena as a replacement of Jayant Yadav for the ongoing quadrangular series. India A, India B, South Africa A and Australia A are the fours team participating in the series.

According to the statement released by BCCI, the Haryana based all-rounder, Jayant Yadav suffered a strain injury to his right side. He will move to National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru where he will receive treatment for his injury.

Jayant Yadav plays for India B in quadrangular series. He returned with the bowling figures of 0-45 in eight overs against South Africa A. However, Jayant Yadav missed the game against India A in the recent outing.

After plying a great trade with Kerala in the productive season of 2017-18, he got the nod as a replacement. Jalaj Saxena scored 552 in the Ranji season 2017-18 while scoring 552 runs with the bat at an average of 52.20. Besides this, he was outstanding with the ball as well. He claimed 44 scalps in just seven games.

Yadav played his last game in Test format on 23 February 2017 against Australia. After Ravi Shastri took the coaching charges of Men in Blue, the Haryana based all-rounder lost his place in national team.

Though he is knocking at the door of selectors due to the inclusion of new faces in the side, he is unlikely to get a chance.

Apart from four Tests, he got a chance to play in an ODI as well. He played his ODI debut against New Zealand in 2016. He scored unbeaten one-run while facing a single delivery. With the ball, he took a wicket while leaking only eight runs.
