Former India opener Virender Sehwag has been slammed by the fans for his ‘insulting’ remark for SunRisers Hyderabad. Known for speaking his mind out and making bold comments, Virender Sehwag has raised a number of eyebrows with his comments for the Hyderabad-based franchise before their game against Mumbai Indians in Sharjah.

Taking a dig at SRH’s unimpressive batting displays so far, the batting legend said that the David Warner-led side should forfeit the game against the defending champions. With the game taking place in Sharjah where all the teams have scored 200 or more so far, the former cricketer said that SRH should not bother about competing and just give Mumbai a walkover.

“Mujhe lagta hain ki Hyderabad ko walkover dena chahiye, kyuni ki humare (SRH) batting mein dum nahi hain ki hum 200-250 run banaye. Hum toh 150 wale khilari hain, aur Mumbai ne agar peheli batting karli toh Mumbai banane wale hain 200 plus,” said Virender Sehwag while speaking on Cricbuzz.

(His comment roughly translates to: Hyderabad should give a walkover. They don’t have the firepower in their batting to score 200-250. SRH are capable of a 150 runs and if Mumbai bat first they will put up a 200-plus total).”
