The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen franchises emptying their pockets to buy players to form a formidable unit. The IPL players are bought during the auction where team with the best bids gets a player in their side. There have been times when a franchise have poured in crores of rupees behind a star player. Let us have a look at each franchise and their costliest players of all-time.
Pat Cummins (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Pat Cummins, with the base price of Rs. 2 crore, was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs. 15.5 crore in the IPL 2020 auction in Kolkata which made him the costliest overseas player ever beating Ben Stokes’ price of Rs. 14.5 crore. It also made him the costliest player the KKR franchise have ever roped in.
Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
Virat Kohli has been the marquee player for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) over the years.
