Team India leg-break bowler, Amit Mishra stated that he had lost his position from Indian cricket team because of injury and not for the form.

However, the battle-scarred Amit Mishra has been on the road long enough to realise this. The leg-spinner knows what it takes to return to the Indian side, and he has been on the sidelines before.

The packed schedule of the domestic cricket can be demanding. Mishra is back at the city where he last played for India against England in the 2016 Test at Chepauk.

Moreover, it was frustrating to wait at the SRMC ground for Mishra and two other Haryana cricketers. The off-spinning all-rounder Jayant Yadav and paceman Mohit Sharma are trying to reclaim their position in India.

However, Amit Mishra, Jayant Yadav, and Mohit Sharma form the core for the Haryana attack. They will try to put them forward for the next years World Cup.

Mishra tried to convey that Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 is the best opportunity for him. He always tries to deceive the batsman, but the control over the ball is very crucial. He also said that he has a lot of variety, but it is always important to mix it when needed.

Mishra also added he was the biggest competitor amongst the present leg-spinners. Thus Mishra concluded he lost his place in India because of his injury and not for his form.

“The Vijay Hazare tournament is a good opportunity for us. I like to deceive the batsmen. But, control is crucial. Yes, I have the variety but it is important to mix it up well. On the present competition among leg-spinners in India,” Mishra stated.

“It’s healthy. But, I am my biggest competitor. I lost my India place because of injury, not form. Now, I am fit and confident.” Mishra said.

The 35-year-old Amit Mishra felt that age was not a factor for selection and he will put up his best to return to Team India.
