Rishabh Pant, the captain of Delhi Capitals (DC) is one hell of a motivator from behind the stumps, as his word encouraged left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav enough for him to dismiss Quinton de Kock in the LSG vs DC clash of the IPL 2022 on April 7, 2022.
LSG captain KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bowl first. Lucknow made one change to their playing XI, bringing in Krishnappa Gowtham in place of Manish Pandey. On the other hand, DC made three changes with David Warner, Anrich Nortje, and Sarfaraz Khan coming in.
Prithvi Shaw top-scored with 61 runs in 34 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes. With Delhi Capitals in a bit of bother, Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan got together 75 unbeaten runs for the 4th wicket and smashed some much-needed runs in the death overs as DC finished on 149/3. Pant remained unbeaten on 39 with 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Sarfaraz made 36* with 3 fours to his name.
Kuldeep Yadav Gets Rid Of Quinton De Kock While Completing Over Left Uncompleted By Anrich Nortje
Chasing 150 runs to win, KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock gave a brisk opening partnership of 73 in 9.4 overs to Lucknow Super Giants. Rahul fell for 24 runs to Kuldeep Yadav, caught by Prithvi Shaw. Quinton de Kock took over the scoring responsibility and made 80 in 52 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes to his name.
While Evin Lewis with 5 and Deepak Hooda with 11 failed to score big runs, DE Kock slammed 80 in 52 balls to take Lucknow Super Giants on the doorstep of the win. Krunal Pandya with 19* and Ayush Badoni with 10* finished the game in the last over as LSG won the match by 155/4.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav was the one to remove Quinton de Kock, as he was brought onto finish the over left uncompleted by Anrich Nortje, who had bowled two waist-high full balls which were called no-balls and as per rules, his time of bowling in the innings was up.
As soon as De Kock hit Kuldeep for two fours in a row, Rishabh Pant went up to the bowler and gave some encouragement. Later before he bowled, Kuldeep was heard on stump mics saying, Isko Tu Hi Out Karega Kullu” and De Kock was caught by Sarfaraz Khan on the next ball.
