IPL 2021 2nd Phase: Strongest Playing XI Of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Without English Players.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will miss Jonny Bairstow who is the only player from England to play for the side. However, his absence will be a big miss for the side that is heavily dependent on the opening partnership of Warner and Bairstow. The pair has scored over 60 percent of the team’s runs since the wicketkeeper-batsman joined the 2016 IPL champions. There will be serious selection headaches as the side has no proper replacement for Bairstow.

SRH are currently placed last on the playing XI having lost six out of their first seven games. David Warner was removed from captaincy as Kane Williamson stepped in. However, he too lost his first game as skipper to mounting problems for the side. They are in a must-win situation in the UAE leg having to win every game. This is how the Sunrisers Hyderabad line-up may look like in the remaining half of the season.

Lack of runs from his bat saw him first removed as captain and then dropped from the playing XI. David Warner will be hungry for runs in the second half and with Bairstow missing, the team will be doubly dependent on him to score big runs in the remaining season. He scored 193 runs from six games including two fifties.

Saha will replace Bairstow as the opener and also behind the stumps. The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman has been underrated as an opener in the IPL. Saha is short of runs and would like to make use of the opportunity at the top of the table.

Manish Pandey

Pandey has been the designated number three for the side. With two fifty-plus scores in the season so far he has scored 193 runs but that was of no use in the first half. SRH lost six out of their first seven games and their batting mainstays Warner, Bairstow and Pandey flopped badly. He will look to make up for it in the second half of the season.

Kane Williamson

The newly-appointed skipper has a tough job on his hands to get back the season for Sunrisers Hyderabad  back on track. The best way he can do that is by scoring runs with the bat. He did that pretty well in the 2018 season taking the team to the finals, he must do it again. He will replace Bairstow in the batting order as the specialist overseas player.

Kedar Jadhav

He is an experienced Indian-middle-order batsman who was not used much with the bat in the first half of the season. He should ideally be a member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad playing XI n the remaining seven games. He is a handy option with the ball too.

Jason Holder

The Windies all-rounder played some good knocks for the team coming in as Mitchell Marsh’s replacement. He can replace someone like Vijay Shankar in the line-up who has been short of runs. Holder can hit the ball long as he has proved on many occasions in the IPL. Him being tall, he can extract extra bounce with the ball in the dead tracks in the UAE which will only get slower as the season progresses.

Rashid Khan

The Afghanistan spin wizard is the specialist spinner in the line-up. He bagged 10 wickets in the first seven games for the side. He should be used as a wicket-taking option in the remaining season. His and Jadhav’s eight overs in total can be crucial for the team’s campaign. A lot of hopes rest on Rashid’s shoulders if they are to make a turnaround.

Bhubaneshwar Kumar

The Indian pacer will be back to lead the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling line-up. His lack of form with the ball was one of the reasons why the side did not play well in the first half of the season. He took just three wickets from five games back in April. He will need to return back to his best.

He will be another seaming option with the ball. He played just three games and picked up the solitary wicket. Bhuvi and Sandeep should pair up well with Siddharth Kaul as the third seaming option in the bowling line-up.

T Natarajan

Natarajan provides a much-needed left-handed option in the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling attack. His ability to bowl yorkers in the death overs is something that his side depends on. He played just one game before a knee injury ruled him out of the season. He is back to full fitness and should be back in the SRH bowling line-up.

Shahbaz Nadeem

Nadeem culminates the strongest looking Sunrisers Hyderabad playing XI for the UAE leg of IPL 2021. He is the third spinning option in the lineup thus maintaining a well-rounded variation in the bowling line-up. He and Jagdeesh Suchit can play alternatively depending on the team combination in the remaining seven games of IPL 2021 for the side.
