IND vs ENG Weather Forecast And Rain Prediction: What Will Happen If Rain Plays Spoilsport In The Semi-Final

India take on England in the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 after beating Zimbabwe and topping Group A in their last Super 12 game on Sunday at the MCG. India qualified for the semis after South Africa’s loss to the Netherlands earlier in the day. However, the win made it more emphatic.

It was a complete and comprehensive performance from India both with bat and ball. Suryakumar Yadav played a blazing inning and his array of strokeplay enlightened the MCG crowd.

At a stage, after India lost four quick wickets, it looked like India would set a total of just over 160. However, SKY’s 360-degree strokeplay meant that India ended up scoring 186 which was more than enough as it proved in the end. KL Rahul scored back-to-back fifties and gave India a good start.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a wicket off his first delivery to set the tone with the ball. The Indian bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals which meant that the Zimbabwe innings never really got any momentum. All the Indian bowlers picked wickets with R Ashwin leading the pack with three wickets. Shami and Hardik took two each as Bhuvi, Arshdeep and Axar took one each.

Rohit Sharma was a happy skipper after India’s 71-run win and said that he is looking forward now to the semi-final against England in Adelaide on November 10. The IND vs ENG is lining up to be a riveting contest between two in-form teams.

“It was a good all-round performance, something that we were looking for. Before the game, we were qualified but it was important to come out and play the way we wanted to play. England will be a good challenge for us. They’ve been playing some good cricket.

Two teams going at each other, it’ll be a great contest. We don’t want to forget what has got us here, we just need to keep sticking to that and understand what each individual needs to do. It’s going to be a high-pressure game. We need to play well. If we do play well there, we have a good game ahead as well. You need to adjust quickly and plan accordingly” Rohit said.

What Will Happen If Rain Plays Spoilsport In IND vs ENG Semi-Final

India plays England in the second semi-final in Adelaide on November 10. Rain has been a big threat in this World Cup and there have been a few rained-out games as well. Two crucial games were rained out at the MCG one involving England and one Australia.

With rain playing spoilsport in crucial games before the tournament, the IND vs ENG second semi-final might also get interrupted by rain. Now for both the semi-finals and the final, there is a reserve day for each of the three games.

Now if the rain plays spoilsport in the IND vs ENG semi-final and if there is no play possible, the match will be played on the reserve day which is November 11. If the play is not possible even on a reserve day, the team that has finished first in the points table will move to the final clash of this World Cup. This means that India who topped Group 2 will proceed to the final and play New Zealand in case the first semi-final is also washed out. The Kiwis topped Group 1.

In case the final is also washed out on November 13 and no play is possible on the reserve day (November 14), both teams will share the trophy.
