“It's Genuinely Tough Being Hanuma Vihari”: Twitter Reacts To Vihari's Exclusion From The XI In 3rd Test vs South Africa

Indian middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari was dropped from India playing XI in the third Test match of the three-match Test series against Dean Elgar-led South Africa at the Newlands, Cape Town on Tuesday, January 11.
India captain Virat Kohli who got ruled out of the second Test at the Wanderers, Johannesburg, came in as Vihari’s replacement in the Test match.

Notably, Kohli was ruled out of the second Test due to an upper back spasm and KL Rahul was given the responsibility to lead the team. India lost that match by 7 wickets and the series is currently leveled and the final match is being held in Cape Town.
Meanwhile, Hanuma Vihari who got the opportunity to play the second Test in the absence of Kohli did a decent job for the team as he scored 20(53) & 40*(84). This was Vihari’s first match after his Sydney Cricket Ground heroics against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Many cricket pundits have suggested that Vihari should get a permanent slot in the Test playing XI and he should replace either Cheteshwar Pujara or Ajinkya Rahane who have been inconsistent with the bat for a very long time.
Here’s How Twitter Reacted To Hanuma Vihari’s Exclusion:
It's tough to be Hanuma Vihari! Hell tough. The guy was our saviour in SCG, dropped in home Test against NZ, sent for South Africa 'A' tour, brought back in Johannesburg, played a gritty knock and thn dropped again!

It's genuinely tough being Hanuma Vihari. You play one test after an year, do well, but have to miss out again for no fault of yours.

Feel for Hanuma Vihari. But sometimes you didn't do anything wrong but you dropped because of some reasons. He was do well in the previous match but he is now dropped but this is called destiny. I Hope he gets the more chances in the upcoming Matches.

Feel for Hanuma Vihari. Did nothing wrong in the previous opportunity he got after a long, but yet again he has to miss out from the playing XI.

In January 11th, 2021 – Hanuma Vihari played a match saving knock at SCG.
Since then he played just 1 Test match – scored 20(53) & 40*(84) in South Africa.
In January 11th, 2022 – Dropped from the playing X1 due to the combination.
Sometimes it's harsh.

BCCI ignoring Hanuma Vihari just like girls ignore boys ?

Hanuma Vihari you are a gem of a batter and the team owes you a big apology for this. You will be back and you will be back with a bang.#INDvsSA

As expected hanuma vihari is dropped!!!
Not fair i feel…though with 5 bowler theory…someone has to sit out… unfortunately its vihari— Darshan (@deekuonfire) January 11, 2022
Hanuma Vihari not playing!
This is insanity, we have all the resources why are we going with mediocrity.#INDvsSA #ViratKohli #vihari pic.twitter.com/Ow6LnEtDN7— Bhushan Shete (@SheteBhushan) January 11, 2022
Hanuma Vihari's prime batting years are getting wasted. Deserves a long rope but Dravid has already made it clear that he won't get regular chances as long as seniors are there. One of those players who has found himself at the wrong end of the system and process! #SAvIND

India Make Two Big Changes In The Playing XI For The Cape Town Test vs SA
India National Cricket Team made two changes in the playing XI as Virat Kohli came in for Vihari and Umesh Yadav replaced injured Mohammed Siraj in the team. Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first in the match.
“You cannot control what’s above your head. Runs on this venue have always worked out well. I am fit and fine. I come in for Vihari. Siraj misses out because of a niggle and Umesh comes in for him. Umesh has been very potent with the ball recently, very handy in the field and with the bat as well. It was a tough decision to choose between the two (Ishant and Umesh). We are expected to win every Test even when we play overseas and that fourth innings chase from South Africa was a special one from them. It is a beautiful stadium and we are very excited,” said Kohli after the toss.
India (Playing XI): KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli(c), Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant(w), Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav
