Then, Virat Kohli and opener Shikhar Dhawan added 98 runs together before the latter was dismissed by Andile Phehlukwayo in the 23rd over and Dhawan managed to score 61 runs off 73 balls.

South Africa Post The Target Of 288 Runs For India

Twitter Reacts As Quinton de Kock Scores A Century In The Cape Town ODI vs India

India won the toss and invited South Africa to bat first. The decision to bowl first favoured the Indian team a lot as Deepak Chahar dismissed Janneman Malan in the 3rd over and Proteas captain Temba Bavuma got run out in the 7th over. Deepak picked his second wicket by dismissing Aiden Markram in the 13th over when South Africa were struggling at 70.

Then, wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen had an incredible 144 runs partnership that brought South Africa back in the game. During the process, de Kock smashed his 17th ODI century and 6th against India.

Jasprit Bumrah got the breakthrough for India as he dismissed de Kock, who scored 124 runs off 130 deliveries including 12 fours and 2 sixes, in the 36th over. Rassie van der Dussen was also dismissed in the 37th over by Yuzvendra Chahal and his innings ended at the score of 52 runs.

In the end, David Miller and Dwaine Pretorius added 44 runs off 43 balls to help South Africa score 287 runs in the first innings.
