Even though MI’s season began with a loss to Delhi Capitals, Ishan played a responsible inning, balancing aggression with care to score an unbeaten 81 off 48 balls at the Brabourne Stadium.

Ishan Kishan received high praise from Harbhajan Singh:

“Ishan has shown himself to be a mature player.” When Rohit Sharma was dismissed, he took over the batting and declared, “I have to play to the end.” He’s shown how talented he is as a hitter with this hit “On the Star Sports broadcast, Harbhajan remarked

“I’m a fan of this guy,” he continued. “In a match, I bowled against this man and he struck two or four sixes against me. I knew he’d be a great player after seeing him swing like that, and I now sit back and enjoy his batting anytime he walks into the middle.”

After a critical 61-run opening stand with captain Rohit Sharma, the youngster played a key role in Mumbai’s comeback following Kuldeep Yadav’s triple blow. In his 48-ball innings, he hit 11 boundaries and two sixes to help Mumbai reach 177 for five.

Although Ishan’s efforts, Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel assisted Delhi in chasing down the target with 10 balls to spare, as Mumbai lost their IPL season opener for the 10th time in a row.
