IPL 2022 Auction: Team Wise One Old Player That Will Be Brought Back By The Franchise
Chennai Super Kings- Faf du Plessis
Chennai Super Kings will aim to bring back Faf du Plessis in their squad. Due to the restriction of only 4 players during retentions, the IPL 2021 champions could not retain Plessis.
As an opener, the South African player did a marvellous job in IPL 2021, smashing 633 runs in 16 games at an average of 45.21 and 6 half-centuries. With Faf du Plessis, CSK will again have the same strong set of openers -Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis-which they had in last season.
Delhi Capitals- Shikhar Dhawan
For Delhi Capitals, Shikhar Dhawan will be the player that they will definitely want to bring back in the squad during IPL 2022 auction. The left-handed batsman is a hard-hitting opening batsman in IPL. He slammed 587 runs in 16 innings at an average of 39.13 last season, with 3 half-centuries.
Prithvi Shaw- Dhawan pair has been a successful set of openers for DC in the last few seasons and the team will aim to continue with them in IPL 2022 as well.
Kolkata Knight Riders- Pat Cummins
Kolkata Knight Riders might bring back Pat Cummins in IPL 2022 auction. The Australian pacer did not play in the UAE leg last season. However, in the first leg, he picked 9 wickets in 7 games at an average of 26.33. He also slammed a quickfire half-century in one game batting at lower-order. Pat Cummins is one of the best international pacers currently and is also Australia’s new Test skipper.
Mumbai Indians- Hardik Pandya
Mumbai Indians could not retain Hardik Pandya in the squad as they could only go for a maximum of 4 players. The franchise might look to bring back Pandya in the squad during IPL 2021 auction.
Although the all-rounder came up with average performance last season, he has been part of the franchise since his debut. Pandya has been a core member of the team who was part of their five successful quests for IPL trophies.

However, he is an amazing all-rounder. In 43 matches in 4 IPL seasons so far, Stokes has scored 920 runs at an average of 25.55 with 2 centuries and 2 fifties. He has also picked 28 wickets at an average of 34.78.
