IPL 2022 is all set to begin soon. In the opening clash on March 26, Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. IPL 2022 will witness a clash among 10 teams as 2 more teams have been added to the tournament.

Mohammed Shami was the 5th highest wicket-taker in the last season. Shami was part of Punjab Kings. The right-arm pacer scalped 19 wickets in 14 games at an average of 20.78. He was the highest wicket-taker for his team. The Indian pacer bowled at an economy of 7.50 in the tournament. In IPL 2022, Shami will play for Gujarat Titans.

4. Shardul Thakur- 21

Shardul Thakur takes the 4th spot on this list. In IPL 2021, the right-arm pacer picked 21 wickets for Chennai Super Kings and was the top wicket-taker for the team. He bowled at an average of 25.09 in 16 matches. He was a little expensive at his economy rate of 8.80. Thakur will play for Delhi Capitals in the 2022 season.

3. Jasprit Bumrah- 21

Jasprit Bumrah gets the 3rd spot on this list. Emerging as the top wicket-taker for Mumbai Indians, Bumrah scalped 21 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 19.52. The right-arm pacer had an economy of 7.45. Bumrah will again play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022.

2. Avesh Khan- 24

Avesh Khan was one of the impressive bowlers from the last season. The right-arm pacer scalped 24 wickets in 16 games and emerged as the 2nd highest wicket-taker in IPL 2022. He was part of Delhi Capitals. He averaged 18.75 in the tournament and bowled at an economy of 7.37. Avesh Khan will play for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022.

Harshal Patel was the top wicket-taker of IPL 2021 with 32 wickets. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Patel was impressive from the 1st game itself where he clinched a 5-wicket haul. He played 15 matches and averaged 14.34.

He held an economy of 8.14. Patel also equalled Dwayne Bravo’s record for most wickets in a single IPL season. The right-arm pacer will again play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022.
