It was the most important game for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. If they had to qualify for the playoffs, they needed to win the match at any cost. In the end, DC lost by 5 wickets with 5 balls remaining.

At the Wankhede Stadium, DC were rocked early by the Mumbai Indians when Daniel Sams got David Warner. Then came Jasprit Bumrah, who took two wickets in a row, Prithivi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh. Inside the powerplay, they were 31-3.

Soon after, Sarfaraj Khan got out too, but Rishabh Pant and Rovman Powell formed an important middle-order partnership. Pant was removed by Ramandeep Singh after they added 75 runs. Powell quickly followed Pant into the dugout, looking to gain ground in the slog overs.

A 10 ball 19 from Axar Patel helped DC post 159 runs on the board.

Mumbai Indians chase got to a difficult start as Khaleel Ahmed troubled Rohit Sharma for two consecutive overs. Eventually, Rohit lost his wicket for 2 runs.

Ishan Kishan and Dewald Brevis put things back on track for MI as Kishan scored 48 runs and Brevis made 37 runs in his comeback game. In the end, Tim David scored 34 runs from 11 balls and brought MI close to victory. In the end, DC lost the game by 5 wickets.

Mumbai Indians have ended the season in the 10th position. This is the first time in IPL history that MI has finished last in a season. DC finished the league stage in the 5th position.

Jos Buttler still leads the run charts. KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock are 2nd and 3rd on the list respectively.

Yuzvendra Chahal is still at the top of the bowling charts. Kuldeep Yadav moved to the 4th spot after picking up a wicket.
