Mumbai Indians take on Delhi Capitals in their final league game of IPL 2022. They lost 10 matches so far, the most by them in any IPL season. The Rohit-Sharma led-side would like to end their campaign with a win as they look to build towards IPL 2023.
Mumbai Indians have tried almost all their players across the league. Arjun Tendulkar is the only nominal name that has missed out on game time this season. He has been with the side since IPL 2021 but yet to make his debut. Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra urged the management to give him a game in this last match. Apart from his inclusion, there are no big changes expected. Jasprit Bumrah, who has played all the matches till now can be rested for this final game as well.
Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals: Mumbai Indians’ Predicted Playing XI Against Delhi Capitals, IPL 2022, Match 69, MI vs DC
Rohit Sharma
Rohit scored 48 against SRH in the last game, his highest score this season. He is yet to score a fifty this season. Maybe the last game can be his game to score at least a half-century.
Ishan Kishan
Kishan will open the batting alongside Rohit. The duo have batted well up at the top of the order. The game also gives Kishan an opportunity to score another fifty.
Tilak Varma
In SKY’s absence, he should bat at number three. Verma has already scored 376 runs in 13 matches and has a chance to get to 400 in his debut season for Mumbai Indians.
Tristan Stubbs / Dewald Brevis
Either of the South African U-19 players can be given a go at number four. The management has decided to drop Kieron Pollard for the last few matches There is an option to recall him for the final game as well.
Tim David
David scored 46 off 18 balls but failed to take Mumbai Indians home against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He will learn from his mistake and hopefully will take the side over the line in this game.
Ramandeep Singh
The Punjab cricketer took three for 20 with the ball against SRH. However, he failed to take his side home with the bat. Despite that, he should play the final game.
Arjun Tendulkar
The MI management might try out Arjun Tendulkar in this game. He is an all-rounder and thus might get his chance late with the bat. He provides a left-arm pace option with the ball too.
Murugan Ashwin
Sanju Yadav did not have a good debut game. Mumbai can include Murugan Ashwin in this game in his place. Ashwin played the first few games and bowled economically.
Daniel Sams
Sams has made a brilliant comeback for Mumbai Indians ever since being hit for 35 runs by his countryman Pat Cummins. In his last seven games, he has picked up more than 10 wickets.
Jasprit Bumrah / Basil Thampi / Jaydev Unadkat
With MI already out of the tournament, they can rest lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah in this game and play either Thampi or Unadkat. India will tour England later this year which will be followed by the T20 World Cup in Australia and Bumrah will be key in both those fixtures.
Riley Meredith
Meredith will be the second overseas pacer in the Mumbai Indians playing XI. He went for 44 runs off his four overs in the last match against SRH.
