RR vs RCB: Will Ego Come In Between Again? Aakash Chopra On Sanju Samson's Battle With Wanindu Hasaranga

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper, Sanju Samson, generally finds ways to get out and his ego might play a huge part in his battle with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga, in Qualifier 2.

Ahead of the crucial game, Samson will be aware of his terrible record against Hasaranga. He was dismissed by the leggie twice in this season and overall, has an average of 3 against the Lankan in 6 games.

“Sanju Samson’s fight is with himself. Wanindu Hasaranga has dismissed him many times but he doesn’t dismiss him, Sanju dismisses himself. Sanju himself tries to play such shots that he gets out eventually.”

“Will ego come in between again, that I am going to take you on, I don’t care what your name is or what your record is. It will not matter if you become conservative against one bowler,” Chopra said as he analyzed the game.

After Jos Buttler‘s extraordinary start to the season, he was expected to carry the torch in the batting department. However, he fell off tremendously but his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal has stepped up quite well.

“Yashasvi Jaiswal is there along with him (Buttler), he had gotten dismissed in the last match. I feel Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring runs might just be the key to their success. If he gets out early, this team will be in trouble. Yashasvi is a good player but it is going to be interesting.”

“Shimron Hetmyer’s form has been okay-okay since he has come back. Will they send Ravichandran Ashwin up the order again? I am not 100% certain, because bouncers will be bowled as soon as he comes unless they find themselves in a spot of bother,” Chopra further mentioned.

RCB goes up against RR in Ahmedabad for a place in the IPL 2022 final where the Gujarat Titans team is already waiting.
