During the KKR vs DC clash in Qualifier 2, KKR won the toss and opted to bowl first. With a slow start, DC opener Shikhar Dhawan scored 36 runs off 39 balls. Later, Shimron Hetmyer scored 117 runs off 10 balls before getting out. Shreyas Iyer also played a crucial knock of unbeaten 30 runs. DC could manage 135-5 on the scoreboard.

With a 136-run target, KKR openers Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer gave a fabulous start to the batting. Both of them posted an opening stand of 96 runs. Iyer smacked 55 while Gill scored 46. Towards the end, KKR only needed 23 runs off 30 balls and the match looked totally one-sided.
However, KKR lost some quick wickets in the last 3 overs. In the final over, KKR needed 7 runs for victory after losing 5 wickets. They lost 2 more wickets in the final over. When the team needed 6 runs off 2 balls, Rahul Tripathi slammed a six to bag victory for KKR by 3 wickets.
Chennai Super Kings also defeated Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 1 match. In the match, DC batted first and posted a good total of 172-5. DC opener Prithvi Shaw played an astonishing knock of 60 off 34 balls. After losing few quick wickets in the middle, DC skipper Rishabh Pant smacked unbeaten 51 runs while Shimron Hetmyer slammed quickfire 37.

Later, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 70 runs off 50 balls. One-down Robin Uthappa also smacked 63 runs and both of them gave a quick start to CSK. Towards the end, CSK needed 13 runs off the final over. MS Dhoni hit 3 boundaries to win the match for the team by 4 wickets.
