In the end, it was Punjab Kings that broke the bank to get Sam Curran, who drew the highest-ever bid that bettered the previous best buy of INR 16.25 crore that Rajasthan Royals had shelled out to grab South African all-rounder Chris Morris in IPL 2021.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spent INR 14 crores to buy him in the IPL 2022 auction. Deepak Chahar though missed out on the entire IPL 2022 season after suffering a quadricep tear in the third T20I against West Indies.

Kyle Jamieson is one of the costliest buys so far in IPL history. Kyle Jamieson had played only IPL 2021 for Royal Challengers Bangalore where he scored 65 runs and took 9 scalps in as many matches.

Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Kyle Jamieson for a whopping INR 15 crore in IPL 2021 mini-auction. He was the second-most-expensive buy at the IPL 2021 auction but skipped the 2022 season of the IPL due to injuries and bio bubble fatigue.

Ishan Kishan of Mumbai Indians became one of the costliest buys so far in IPL history. Mumbai Indians had spent a whopping INR 15.25 crore to have him back in IPL 2022 and he responded by scoring 418 runs in 14 games averaging 32.15 including 3 fifties.

Pat Cummins was the most expensive buy in the 2020 IPL Auction after being bagged by KKR for a whopping 15.50 crores-becoming one of the costliest buys so far in IPL history. He picked 12 scalps in 14 IPL 2020 games averaging 34.08.

The right-arm pacer had struggled with consistency in IPL 2022. He was subsequently dropped from the playing eleven and later was injured and ruled out after playing only 5 games (7 scalps, 63 runs). Pat Cummins had pulled out of the IPL auction 2023.

Yuvraj Singh failed to live up to the billing with Delhi, managing 248 runs and a solitary wicket in 14 matches. Delhi released Yuvraj Singh ahead of the next season. The then most expensive player in IPL’s history had scored 67 runs and taken 15 scalps averaging 13.4 and 25.06, respectively, with the bat and ball in 11 games in IPL 2021 which isn’t quite satisfactory from the most expensive IPL player. It became his last season.

Ben Stokes was picked by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the IPL auction 2023. The England all-rounder was bought by the franchise for INR 16.25 crores-becoming the 3rd costliest player so far in history. Ben Stokes had set a base price of INR 2 crores during the IPL auction 2023.

Ben Stokes is a left-handed batsman and right-arm pacer. The England Test skipper was also bought by now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant(s) for INR 14.5 Crore in IPL 2017.

Apart from RPS where he scored 316 runs averaging 31.6 in 12 matches besides picking 12 scalps averaging 26.33, he had played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2018-2021. He scored 604 runs in 31 games averaging 23.23 besides picking 16 scalps for RR.

Cameron Green, the Australian all-rounder, became one of the costliest players in the Indian Premier League after Mumbai Indians shelled out INR 17.50 crores to pick him during the IPL auction 2023. Cameron Green is a batting all-rounder from Australia who will play his debut IPL season in IPL 2023. He is the 2nd costliest player in IPL history.

Opening the batting in T20I cricket for the very first time, he struck two fifties in three games ending his series against India with 118 runs from three games striking at 214.55 and averaging nearly 40. His cameos gave Australia two quick starts in the first and the third T20I.

He struck a 19-ball fifty against India in the recent T20I series. The young all-rounder smashed 61 runs off 30 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes in the 1st T20I. The all-rounder scored 52 runs off 21 balls, including 7 four and 3 sixes in the 3rd T20I.

Sam Curran, the England all-rounder, was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for INR 18.50 crores during the IPL auction 2023- the costliest buy ever in IPL history. In IPL 2021, the left-arm pacer was part of the Chennai Super Kings.

He played 9 matches for CSK and scored 56 runs at a strike rate of 193+. With the ball, he scalped 9 wickets in 9 games at an average of 36.44. The England all-rounder had a base price of INR 2 crores during IPL 2023 auction. Sam Curran is an all-rounder who bowls left-arm medium pace and bats left-handed.

Sam Curran opted out of IPL 2022 due to his rehabilitation from a back injury, which also saw him miss out on the T20 World Cup 2021 last year. But he was the player of the tournament in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
