IPL 2026 Schedule: Full Match List, Dates, Venues, Timings, Free Live Streaming & Telecast Details
The highly-awaited Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) is just around the corner. It will be the 19th edition of the tournament. Just like the previous seasons, ten teams will be fighting it out in the upcoming season as well.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the reigning champions. They beat Punjab Kings in the final last year to win their maiden IPL title. The Bengaluru-based outfit had previously lost three finals before finally ending up on the winning side. On the other hand, Punjab Kings qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2014 before losing the final.
Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals now remain the only two teams that are playing in the competition from the very inaugural season in 2008 but are yet to win the IPL.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be hoping to become only the third team after Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians to defend their IPL title. For Mumbai and Chennai, the upcoming season will be another opportunity to clinch a historic sixth IPL title.
Kolkata Knight Riders will be eyeing their third title while Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans will be hoping to win the tournament for the second time.
As the cricketing world gears up for yet another exciting season of the IPL, we take a detailed look at the full IPL 2026 schedule, including match dates, venues, timings, and where fans can watch the action live.

IPL 2026 Match Timings (IST & Local Time):

Last year, 13 venues were picked to host the IPL games. Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals played a couple of their home games in Vishakhapatnam and Guwahati respectively while Punjab Kings played one of their home games in Dharamsala.
The upcoming season could also see new venues due to the elections scheduled in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Assam. Additionally, Rajasthan Royals have also been forced to hunt for a new home venue this year because of the ongoing issue with Rajasthan Cricket Association.
IPL 2026 Opening Match Details:
The first match of an IPL season is traditionally played at the home ground of the defending champions. So, IPL 2026 opener is set to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be in action on the very first day of the season.

Orange Cap & Purple Cap winners (prediction):
The Orange Cap and Purple Cap are given to the players with most runs and wickets respectively. Last year, Sai Sudharsan won the Orange Cap for ending the season with most runs while Prasidh Krishna won the Purple Cap for taking most wickets.
The fans will be eagerly waiting to see who leads the run-scoring and wicket-taking charts this year. With players from across the globe competing in the IPL, the race for the Orange Cap and Purple Cap remains one of the tournament's most exciting contests.
IPL 2026 Playoffs Qualification Rules:
The top four teams in the points table at the end of the league stage qualify for the playoffs. Their position in the points table determine the playoff matchups and the subsequent path to the final. Teams get 2 points for a win, 1 point each if the match ends in no result and 0 point for a loss. If more than one team finish with the same number of points, their positions are decided by net run-rate.
The IPL playoffs system rewards the teams that finish in the top two as they get two shots at the final. The teams finishing in the top two play the Qualifier 1 for a place in the final. On the other hand, the teams finishing at the third and fourth spots play the Eliminator.
The winner of the Qualifier 1 progresses to the final while the loser gets another shot at final. On the other hand, the winner of the Eliminator faces the loser of the Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 for a place in the final while the loser is knocked out.
IPL playoffs rules:
- Qualifier 1: 1st place vs 2nd place
- Eliminator: 3rd place vs 4th place
- Qualifier 2: Loser of Qualifier 1 vs Winner of Eliminator
- Final: Winner of Qualifier 1 vs Winner of Qualifier 2
