New Zealand Cricket Team is all set to clash against India for the 2nd ODI on 21st January (Saturday). The Men in Blue would be quite eager to seal the ODI Series after a hard-fought 1st ODI. Ravichandran Ashwin had recommended that ODIs need to start at 11:30 to negate the dew factor.

In the ODI Series against Sri Lanka & in the 1st ODI against New Zealand, we witnessed that bowlers are at the receiving end. It would be interesting to see whether BCCI & broadcaster change the timings for the Marquee ODI World Cup 2023.

Paras Mhambrey on Early Start in ODIs

Paras Mhambrey was seen in pre-match press conference and was asked about early start in ODIs. “He (Ashwin) raised a very valid point. Overall, dew does play a part at some venues. It all depends on where you are playing, what scenario… When the ball does get old, it (the game) really tilts onto the batting side. Spin is not there, the ball comes onto the wicket. It definitely makes batting easy.” said Paras Mhambrey.

“That’s something that we can look into. The ICC and the board need to discuss it, with other members attached. It’s a very important point, can be looked into.” he added.

Paras Mhambrey on Mohammed Siraj

Paras Mhambrey was asked about Mohammed Siraj. “I have seen him when he was first part of the India A setup. He did exceedingly well in red-ball cricket. Very heartening to see that he has transformed those skills into white-ball cricket. He’s worked on the seam position and action to get the ball going. That’s made the difference.” said Paras Mhambrey.

Mohammed Siraj has been the inseparable part of the Indian cricket Team over the last couple of years. The peculiarity of Siraj is that he bowls quite wicket to wicket where he cramps the batters for room.  The team should use Siraj carefully, as the hosts can’t afford another injury setback.
