Indian Cricket Team had won the toss and elected to bat first in the 1st ODI at Hyderabad. Skipper Rohit Sharma made 3 changes to their lineup as Shardul Thakur came back and replaced Umran Malik whereas Ishan Kishan & Suryakumar Yadav came in place of KL Rahul & Shreyas Iyer.

India had a pretty decent start in the power-play overs as they managed to score 52 runs for the loss of no wickets. Skipper Rohit Sharma was looking a bit scratchy as New Zealand captain Tom Latham applied short ball tactics. Shubman Gill, on the other hand, got his eye in and was playing cautiously.

At the end of 12 overs, India’s score was 60-1. The 13th over was given to the lanky Blair Tickner and on the 1st ball of the over, Rohit went for a huge six and then gave a catch to Daryl Mitchell at Mid on. Rohit Sharma got out on 34 runs in 38 balls where he struck 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Rohit would be utterly disappointed with his performance as once again he couldn’t convert his start into a big one. Due to this wicket, New Zealand would sense that they have got a chance in the match as there isn’t any significance on the pitch.
