Yuzvendra Chahal has been a powerful spinner for the Indian team in the last 3-4 years. The right-arm spinner is the top wicket-taker for India in the shortest format with 91 wickets. In ODIs, he has picked 121 scalps in 72 games. He is yet to play a Test match for Team India. However, there is a narrow competition among spinners to grab a spot in the national team.
Although Chahal is a mighty leg spinner, his economy of 8.14 is a little high in the shortest format. Moreover, he will also turn 33 years old this year. Some spinners have impressed with their performances and they can be a better replacement for Chahal in T20Is. Here we take a look at 5 better spinners than Yuzvendra Chahal who deserve a place in the Indian cricket team.

Ravi Bishnoi is the first Indian spinner who deserves a chance over Yuzvendra Chahal in the Indian team. He was also picked in Asia Cup 2022 squad. However, he was snubbed from T20 World Cup 2022 in October-November last year and is yet to play any game ever since.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin might be a less favorable spinner on this list but he is definitely one of the options. Ashwin has always been brought back to the T20I side whenever other spinners have struggled with poor form.
Last year, when Yuzvendra Chahal was failing to pick wickets on a continuous basis, Ashwin was picked in T20Is. After his impressive show, he also bagged a place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 squad. He has been a powerful performer in Tests too.
At least, Ashwin can replace Yuzvendra Chahal in home games in T20Is and ODIs. With 157 scalps in 184 games at an incredible economy of just 6.98, Ashwin is also a consistent performer in Indian Premier League.
