Pakistan will be hosting West Indies for three ODIs in June 2022. All the matches will be played in Multan with the first ODI on June 8. West Indies toured Pakistan in December last year and lost the T20I series. The hosts now will be looking to beat them in the ODI series as well to round off the tour.

West Indies will be led by Nicholas Pooran, their newly appointed white-ball skipper post Kieron Pollard’s retirement. They have the likes of Pooran Shai Hope and Rovman Powell among the batters. The side is a bit weak on their bowling with Jason Holder not included in the squad. Shimron Hetmyer too is not a part of this squad.

Mayers can open the batting with Hope. He played the final two ODIS against the Netherlands and looked in good touch. Hope and Mayers would also maintain the left-right combination while opening the batting.

The southpaw should look to bat the maximum overs being the skipper of the side This being a 50-over game, he should look to anchor his innings and set it up for the finishers to take them to a good score.

Rovman Powell

Powell can be sent up at number four. Poorab and Powell batting together in the middle-overs can decimate the Pakistan attack if they bat well. The Windies management needs to take this chance.

Brandon King

King batted well in the middle-order against the Netherlands. In one of the ODIs, he scored a 91 to take his team to a good score. His role also should remain similar as he is a solid batsman and is very flexible in his approach.

Romario Shepherd

The big-hitting Romario Shepherd completes a good-looking top six for West Indies. If all of them play to their potential, they can help their team post a good score.

Akeal Hosein

The left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein can bat at number seven. the southpaw can tonk the ball and can bowl handy left-arm off-spin. To add to that, he is a brilliant fielder.

Hayden Walsh

Walsh can be his spinning partner from the other end. These two are the best spinners going around in the current West Indies setup. Like Hosein, Walsh is also a brilliant fielder.

Alzarri Joseph

Joseph can lead this young pace attack. In the absence of Holder and Kemar Roach, Joseph is now the spearhead of the West Indian attack. He is fresh off a successful IPL season with Gujarat Titans.

Seals is yet to make his ODI debut for West Indies. This is the right opportunity for the tall pacer to be given a game and express his potential. He is one of the young Windies pacers who bowls with a good pace and has good action.

Sherman Lewis

Lewis made his debut in the third ODI against the Netherlands. He picked up 3 for 67 in the game and was selected in the squad for the Pakistan series because of his deceptive pace. This concludes the probable playing XI for West Indies against Pakistan.
