Sanjay Bangar was having an interaction with Star Sports and was asked about Rohit Sharma. “It’s a massive series for Rohit purely for the reason that whenever he was at his best, unfortunately, injuries made him sit out a lot of Test matches from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, when he was batting really well, he had to miss a Test match because he wanted to come back home to be with his family for personal reasons,” said Rohit Sharma.

“He has already conquered in his mind the challenge of batting in English conditions in Test match cricket as an opener. Against England in India, we saw what a terrific series he had at home. So he obviously would keep this at the top of his to-do mark to do really well as a captain against the Australian team,” he added.

Steep Road Ahead for India

The management would be worried as the star batter Virat Kohli has looked a bit scratchy. At the same time, the batter doesn’t have a promising record against Australia in recent years where he hasn’t converted his starts which is a concern for the team.

With Shreyas Iyer ruled out of the 1st Test match, it would be interesting to see whether Suryakumar Yadav gets a game and most importantly how he gets used to the red ball. He could be the lighting spark as a breezy knock can change the complexion of the match.
